I earned my Masters of Education in Art Education and my Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. My passion is sharing the arts, to help build communities, and create dialogue through meaningful creation.
My first three years at Antietam School District I taught 7th - 12th grade students. I currently teach Kindergarten - 6th Grade students at Stony Creek Elementary (Kindergarten - 3rd grade) and the Kerry C. Hoffman Intermediate School (4th - 6th grade). Previously, I taught Summer Art Camps at the Wayne Art Center, Phoenix Village Art Center, and Historic Yellow Springs.
I am the founder and advisor of Creative Community, an afterschool club for students to explore our creative ideas, beautify our school, and build community. I also advise Craft Club, which is an afterschool club for older students to develop our artistic skills and explore the world of fiber arts.
As an artist, I enjoy working with a variety of art media especially paint and collage. I have a strong background in crafts because of my experience working at art centers and with local artists. I have completed several public and private murals including: chalk mural at Brewed Awakening Coffee Shop, mountain mural at the Antietam High School, and 4 collaborative murals at the Antietam Pool,
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and our dog. We love to go for hikes on local trails and explore nature. I like to stay active during my free time, and in college I played women's rugby.
